Musical season 2024
The king of instruments for this first season of the “Villa Musica” to be held in our new concert hall, will be the piano. Working as an organiser of music festivals for over 20 years has allowed me to foster friendships with the guest artists. Seeing that these ties have lasted over the years is such an acknowledgment! And what a joy it is for us to welcome to Fusio, deep in the Val Maggia, such internationally renowned artists as Peter Rösel, the Claire Désert & Emmanuel Strosser duo, Delphine Bardin (winner of the 1997 Clara Haskil Prize), Gabriele Pezzoli and Ophélie Gaillard.
Reserve your seats (and your rooms). This is going to be a memorable season!

PETER ROESEL
Born in Dresden in 1945, Peter Rösel was a pupil of Dmitri Bashkirov and Lev Oborin in Moscow. Today he is “the most unknown of the great pianists”, according to Alain Lompech. Rösel is a comet from a paradise considered extinct: the paradise of pure inspiration. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Everests of the repertoire are the favourites in his programmes. Indeed, Peter Rösel needs space and height to quench his thirst for beauty and transcendence. His complete works for piano by Brahms and his piano concertos by Beethoven and Rachmaninov, with the illustrious Kurt Sanderling remain ultimate references.

CLAIRE DÉSERT & EMMANUEL STROSSER
Claire Désert and Emmanuel Strosser come from the same generation of talented French pianists and both enjoy enviable solo careers. They form a four-hand piano duo that has become a reference of the genre over the decades. The absolute ease and delight with which the two pianists play together conveys a feeling of immense freedom. But as is always the case with great performers, this freedom was obtained through tireless efforts as well as through experience and collaboration over the years and the works. Not to be missed!
26.07.2024 – 9 pm
GABRIELE PEZZOLI, piano
- Concerto per piano solo
Price: CHF 35.- / for our guests CHF 30.-
GABRIELE PEZZOLI
Pianist, composer and producer Gabriele Pezzoli, born in Locarno in 1973, will present an itinerary dedicated to original compositions, improvisations and pieces drawn from the rich repertoire of jazz standards. There will be some particular references to great masters of the keyboard such as Thelonious Monk, Brad Mehldau, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett. An evocative and intimate dialogue with the instrument, the space and the audience.

OPHELIE GAILLARD
Her insatiably curious and daring spirit, coupled with her passion for the entire cello concerto repertoire, with no frontiers or turf wars, have set this brilliant Franco-Swiss performer apart from her peers from the very start. The audience at the “Victoires de la Musique Classique” granted her the Instrumental Soloist Revelation award in 2003. Since then, Ophélie Gaillard has performed in recitals at the most prestigious venues (Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Théâtre d’Aix-en-Provence, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Oji Hall in Tokyo, Wigmore Hall in London, etc.).

DELPHINE BARDIN
First-prize winner at the Paris Conservatoire, French pianist Delphine Bardin won the famous Clara Haskil competition in Vevey in 1997. When Bardin’s prize was announced, many listeners exclaimed: “Clara Haskil has come back to life!” Delphine Bardin is not only similar in looks to her illustrious elder. Precociously gifted and with outstanding experience, the French pianist is as demanding as she is sometimes reserved, focused on music and solely on music. She proceeds as she wishes and not as she would deserve. You are invited to experiment with no restraint her secret and absolutely pure art.
A brand new (small) hall
Because of its location, its geographical remoteness and its very special setting, Villa Pineta seems to us to be the ideal place to offer people who wish to do so a place of retreat, of renewal, a place to work or to meet.
Our new hall is devoted to music: overlooking the park and with a view of the mountains, it has been designed and conceived, first and foremost, from an acoustic perspective: around a magnificent grand piano. We wish to offer our guests – be they music lovers, amateur or professional musicians – the opportunity to sense every exhalation, hear every vibration and feel every harmony.
But this ground-level room is also perfect for yoga retreats, seminars, writing workshops, parties or weddings and can be reserved even out of season. The complementary service at the Villa Pineta was created for you. It is now up to you to come and experience it!
Write to us at info@villapineta.ch and we’ll find the right formula together!
